When I came across with our class blog, I know it can be a touchy subject for First nations because all First Nations have the same common problem in their reserves which is alcoholism/drug abuse and viloence. If anyone is going to say no, not all reserves, I will object! We all have been faced with similar problems and having experienced alcoholism and violence in our homes/upbringing. It is something I couldn't talk about without feeling ashamed about it, but today I can talk about it without feeling ashamed because, to me it brings more healing to self and makes a person stronger and I wish people would see it the same way as I do. that's it for now.

I believe that as we share our experiences with others, we will experience healing as well as with those we are talking to. There are so many feelings that would keep up from sharing and becoming more and more isolated. I'm glad you are sharing your story. It's so important to do so.
