First Day of ENGL 1104

Hi Gail,
I would like to introduce myself, my name is Cora Mae Francis, a single parent and I have two beautiful children ages; 15 yr. old and 9 yr. old I'm from Elsipogtog, N.B I speak my native language at home which is micmac, although my children speak English. I would like to see my children pick up our micmac language soon. It is part of our identity and losing our language is also a part of losing of who we are. I rarely hear them speak it so, really it bothers me that my children are losing our language. I think it would be important that our language should be implemented into our school at an early age and continue to learn our languge in school.
My intrests are listening to music, checking out sites on the internet, and socializing with my friends and playing darts. I like collecting butterflies, daisies and elephants. I like to read magazines and watch Oprah and Rachel Ray on television. Also, I like to watch cook shows such as; take home chef, hell kitchen and italian everyday. You could say that I have many intrests.
I took this business course because I would like to build my vocabulary and to learn how to use it in context form, depending what the letter is for and to whom it is sent to. I'd like to learn what would be appropriate to various kinds of business letters since our program has to do with business. I believe I have slacked off in the meaning of words and need to build my vocabulary. I find I am able to put my meaning well when Im typing or writing more than verbally. I would like to improve on speaking good English orally. That's it for now.
